Creativity in Learning, an early learning consulting firm grounded in the constructivist theory of Jean Piaget and social-constructivist theory of Lev Vygotsky, was founded by Laura Friedman, M.Ed., in 2007 as a way to share her lifelong experience with and study of children.
Creativity in Learning offers experiences for the early childhood educator around topics such as: The Thinking Child, The Environment and Materials, Early Literacy, Seeing the Learning, and An Integrated Classroom, as well as others.
Based on an image of the young child as one who is competent, capable, innately curious and indeed remarkable, Laura’s work is further inspired and influenced by the ongoing educational project in Reggio Emilia, Italy; by Howard Gardner’s Theory of Multiple Intelligences and the resulting practice; and by the work of David and Frances Hawkins, which involves the contemporary experiences of the Hawkins Centers of Learning.
Creativity in Learning came to Red Design in early 2010 to build a web site with a focus on education and communication. In 2015 we completely updated the site with a modern design that is fully responsive, compatible with all major browsers, HDPI + Retina ready. The site reflects the progressive outlook of Creativity in Learning and looks great on any device.
